13 Inch laptops are the ideal travelling companion. Perfectly sized for cars, trains and planes. Great for working on, consuming content like Netflix or YouTube or even some light travel gaming. 13 Inch laptops are one of the most popular sizes because they're easy to transport and usually extremely lightweight. This means, the kind of people who'll get the most use out of a 13 Inch laptop are travelling business people, frequent flyers, or gamers who like to get their game on - out and about. 

The answer to this question will probably depend on what you're going to use it for. You're not likely to find a 13 inch laptop very comfortable for spreadsheets or video editing, for example. But for word documents, web browsing, TV and Films they're perfect. Especialy while away from your desk, or travelling.

Aside from the obvious screen size difference, there are a few differences to speak of. 13 inch laptops tend to have a slightly smaller range of connections on them due to the decreased case size. Also, upgrade options are typically more limited. Though they do have some benefits also. For example, 13 inch laptops can have the same display resolution as 14 inch models resulting in higher perceived quality due to the higher pixel density. 

You might think that there's no real choice if you want a 13 inch laptop for productivity, but there is! You can get a smaller business, home or even gaming, laptop if you want. You'll also find most brands produce models in this popular size.  Laptops in this range are mostly running Microsoft Windows, but you can also get Chromebooks under this size. Not only that, but the aspect ratio is an important consideration. Do you want the traditional 16:9 wide screen look? Or are you more interested in the newer, taller 16:10 ration that gives you more perceived room on screen?

Anything smaller than 13 inch tends to be below the limit of most business and gaming machines. This means that if you're looking for a compact gaming or business laptop, you'll want a 13 inch one or larger. For home, the choice is harder as there's overlap in the capabilities between 12 and 13 inch laptops. This means that the choice will come down to what you need from it. Especially is viewing film and TV content is required as the larger 13" screen makes quite a big difference in this area. 

They're almost perfect for school, university and college! They're small and light, they don't take up too much room on your desk or lecture hall table. They fit in almost all backpacks and messenger bags. They can be Windows or Chrome OS computers with tons of choice for specifications and designs. For school, uni and college a 13 inch laptop is one of the best options available. (In our opinion anyway!)
